Paddle Chesapeake Bay Swim Support June 2007

The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim is an open-water swim challenge of 4.4 miles across Maryland's Chesapeake Bay. The race starts from the shores of Sandy Point State Park, which is about 5 miles from Annapolis. The course goes between the two spans of the William Preston Lane, Jr., Memorial Bridge and finishes on Kent Island next to Hemingway's Restaurant.

Kayaks are responsible for first hand support of the swimmers. We spread out along the course, and keep an eye out for any swimmers that may need help along the way. Fortunately, I didn't see any but was told that approximately 10 swimmers needed to be helped out.
